Robert V. Williamson, MD
Dr. Williamson received his undergraduate education at Washington and
Lee University and his Medical Degree from Wake Forest University
Baptist Medical Center. Both programs were fully sponsored by the US
Army Scholarship program (ROTC). He performed his internship at
Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver, CO and completed residency
training at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, WA. He spent 5
years at Fort Riley, Kansas where he served as the Chief of Surgery and
held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After 13 years of distinguished
military service, Dr. Williamson brought his family back to their roots
in North Carolina.
Dr. Williamson is a fully licensed physician in the state of North
Carolina and is an active member of the medical staff of Northern
Hospital of Surry County. He is board certified by the American Board
of Orthopaedic Surgeons and maintains active fellowship in the American
Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Williamson has great experience in most aspects of Orthopaedic
Surgery including: Sports Medicine, Trauma, Total Joint Replacement,
Hand and Foot Surgery, and Arthroscopic Surgery.
